We are seeking an experienced Procurement Consultant to support and advise on procurement strategy, supplier development, cost optimisation, and quality governance within the automotive sector. This role plays a critical part in driving supplier performance, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, and strengthening global supply chain operations, particularly across China and East Asia.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders to develop procurement frameworks, manage supplier portfolios, oversee quality systems, and support new product development and supplier launches.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Supplier Management
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives
Build and maintain a supplier portfolio with a minimum of three qualified suppliers per product family
Create and manage supply framework agreements, including exclusivity arrangements where applicable
Track supplier project launches and ensure smooth execution and delivery
Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and long-term contracts
Cost Optimisation & Risk Management
Identify and deliver cost-reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and supplier consolidation
Assess procurement and supply chain risks and implement mitigation plans
Ensure continuity of supply and manage alternative sourcing routes
Quality Management & Compliance
Establish, implement, and manage ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems
Act as Management Representative for ISO 9001:2015
Oversee supplier quality assurance, incoming material inspection, and new product APQP processes
Manage non-conforming products, warranty claims, and customer quality issues
Lead internal and external audits and corrective/preventive action plans
Ensure compliance with customer-specific and product safety requirements
Reporting & Governance
Submit weekly operational and quality reports to senior management
Define quality department objectives and KPIs
Consolidate and communicate departmental QMS goals
Review and approve quality-related costs with customers
Conduct customer satisfaction surveys and present improvement plans
Process Improvement & Technology
Analyse procurement and quality processes to identify improvement opportunities
Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, transparency, and supplier performance
Support the integration and optimisation of procurement and supplier management systems
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related discipline
Experience
Minimum 7 years’ experience in procurement / supply chain roles
Strong exposure to automotive upstream supply chains
Extensive experience working with China-based suppliers and regional logistics
Proven experience drafting and closing supply and framework contracts
Technical & Industry Knowledge
Global logistics expertise (China, Taiwan, India, East Asia)
GCC logistics and shipping formalities knowledge
Commercial and negotiation expertise
Supplier development and vendor auditing experience
New product development and quality validation exposure
