The Research Engineer / Data Researcher / Research Analyst plays a pivotal role within the Chairman’s Office & Executive Affairs, supporting Product Development, Innovation, and Group-wide Technology Strategy. This position is responsible for conducting deep, data-driven research across multiple industries and product categories relevant to the group’s diverse portfolio—including automotive, mobility solutions, components, technology platforms, and emerging innovation domains.
The role delivers comprehensive insights on global and regional markets, competitor landscapes, emerging technologies, regulatory frameworks, and new product or investment opportunities. These findings will guide executive decision-making across all group companies, contributing to new business initiatives, engineering strategies, and long-term R&D direction.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, technologically curious, and capable of synthesizing complex information into clear, actionable recommendations. This role requires close collaboration with Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, R&D/Quality, Supply Chain, and Corporate Strategy teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Global Market & Industry Research
Conduct in-depth research across multiple industries and product categories relevant to the group.
Analyze trends in customer behaviour, sustainability, regulatory developments, safety standards, electrification, and emerging technologies.
Monitor competitor product portfolios, performance benchmarks, pricing strategies, and innovation pipelines.
2. Product & Technology Insights
Evaluate emerging technologies, materials, and designs to support product conceptualization and engineering strategies.
Identify opportunities, risks, and market gaps for new product initiatives.
Provide recommendations for R&D planning, innovation roadmaps, and group-wide technology strategy.
3. Data Analysis & Reporting
Collect, validate, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data from multiple internal and external sources.
Present insights through executive-ready reports, dashboards, and presentations.
Translate complex research findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Corporate Strategy to align research outputs with organizational priorities.
Support strategic and operational initiatives through data-driven insights.
5. Continuous Trend Monitoring
Stay updated on global and regional market shifts, technology advancements, and competitor activities.
Recommend areas for innovation, process improvement, or investment to strengthen competitive advantage.
6. Special Projects & Executive Support
Conduct ad hoc research projects to support executive decision-making.
Assist in evaluating new business opportunities, partnerships, or acquisitions.
Maintain organized documentation of research activities, competitive analysis, and technology evaluations.
Support leadership with day-to-day tasks, project tracking, and strategic initiatives.
Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree (required) in:
Mechanical Engineering
Automotive Engineering
Electrical/Electronic Engineering (especially EVs or ADAS)
Materials Science / Chemical Engineering
Industrial Engineering
Experience
1–3 years of experience in research, market intelligence, product development, or R&D within the automotive industry (preferred).
Experience in automotive market analytics, technology scouting, trend research, or competitive benchmarking.
Exposure to product development cycles, engineering teams, or testing environments (highly desirable).
Demonstrated ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and present findings to cross-functional stakeholders.
Functional & Technical Competencies
Strong research and analytical capabilities with the ability to synthesize large volumes of technical and market data.
Solid understanding of automotive systems (powertrain, EV technologies, ADAS, interiors, electronics, materials).
Proficiency in data analysis tools: Excel, Power BI, Tableau.
Ability to create clear and compelling reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
Knowledge of product development cycles, benchmarking processes, and R&D methodologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
