The Manager – Sales & Business Development is responsible for leading day-to-day sales team operations, supporting the design and execution of sales strategies, nurturing client relationships, and ensuring the team operates at peak efficiency. This role plays a critical part in driving business growth and building strong partnerships, especially with OEMs and dealerships.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements.
Develop and execute both long-term and short-term sales strategies to build profitable and sustainable relationships with OEMs and dealerships.
Lead commercial discussions and negotiations with OEMs and dealers.
Drive new sales from existing accounts and meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.
Identify new business opportunities in assigned geographic regions and implement targeted development activities.
Monitor and enhance customer satisfaction by collecting and acting on feedback.
Effectively communicate company offerings to clients and prospects.
Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and supplier developments to optimize sales performance.
Keep abreast of innovations in sales processes and product developments.
Perform monthly and quarterly sales forecasting and ensure timely execution of the sales plan.
Meet sales targets within budget while supporting new product launch initiatives.
Gather and analyze competitive intelligence to support strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with internal design and engineering teams, providing input for new product ideas.
Take ownership of commercial, operational, and financial outcomes for the vertical.
Maintain and expand strong relationships with existing clients and identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
Oversee daily team operations: scheduling, setting targets, and ensuring compliance with policies.
Analyze sales data to identify trends, evaluate team performance, and offer actionable insights.
Prepare and deliver regular sales reports with key performance metrics.
Conduct ongoing market research to stay ahead of industry and customer trends.
Proactively generate, qualify, and follow up on new business leads.
Handle customer queries professionally, ensuring timely resolution and high satisfaction.
Perform administrative functions such as maintaining sales records, managing communication, and coordinating meetings.
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
At least 7 years of experience in sales within the automotive industry, particularly in OEM-focused roles.
Demonstrated success working with global automotive brands like Toyota, BMW, Volkswagen, Nissan, MG, BYD, and Chery.
Deep understanding of automotive technologies, trends, and high-end/luxury market dynamics.
Proficiency in CRM platforms and other sales tools.
Strong relationship-building skills and a client-first approach.
Proven leadership capabilities with experience managing and motivating high-performing sales teams.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
